FWCC Due Process Review Workshops

The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission has asked ASAF and its member organizations to participate in a series of workshops being held around the state to discuss due process procedures for challenging rules of the agency. The process of challenging FWCC rules is very complex because FWCC makes rules under both a constitutionally-derived authority and a statutorily delegated one.

The FWCC has scheduled eight workshops across the state as a number of individuals have asked the FWCC to consider ways to improve these procedures. Ken Haddad, FWCC Executive Director, has extended an invitation to ASAF to participate in the first workshop, to be held August 8, in Tallahassee. This first workshop will offer an opportunity for ASAF to help FWCC develop the overall format and to frame the discussions for the remaining workshops.
