In
2003, the Board of Directors selected Lane Stephens
to serve as executive director. Mr. Stephens, who is
a professional governmental affairs consultant, brings
a wealth of legislative experience to the group. In
addition, he is an avid sportsman as he enjoys hunting,
fresh and saltwater fishing. He has been involved in
the legislative process since 1989, and he has developed
a reputation as a hard-working, straightforward representative
of his clients. He has championed substantive legislation,
as well as appropriations, and he has spent a considerable
amount of time representing clients before state agencies,
various water management districts, and local governments.
In
addition to serving as executive director, he served
on the steering team of the 2005 Summit on the Future
of Hunting in Florida, is a member of the Florida Wildlife
Magazine Advisory Council, and was instrumental in helping
to develop the organization now known as the National
Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses. CLICK
